1998 Baja Speedboat – Full Detail – Baldwin, NY

Today we detailed a 1998 Baja Speedboat in Baldwin, NY. This boat was found on a hydro lift in the back yard of the homeowner. We started by washing and scrubbing the hull and the bow of the boat. There was heavy oxidation on the hull so we knew that this would require additional time to compound. We moved into the cockpit area of the boat and scrubbed down all surfaces too. After rinsing down the boat and drying it, it was ready to be compounded. The compounding process took longer than we anticipated as this boat was heavily oxidized. We had to go over many areas more than once to bring back the original colors. After removing the compound the boat began to shine again. Waxing this boat was much easier than compounding. The surface was left clean and protected from the elements. We vacuumed and treated the leather seats in the cabin. That area was pretty clean and in good condition. The cockpit area was also detailed and we treated the leather seats as well. The carpet was removed and we scrubbed and shampooed it before putting it back in the boat. We were happy with the final results of this boat despite the extra time needed to bring certain areas back to par due to oxidation. Working on the hydro lift today made things a lot easier for us today.
