Where is Five Star Detailing located?

At Five Star Detailing we take pride in bringing our business to you. Our location is your vehicle’s location. We are totally mobile and willing to come out to where your car is located. We understand that in our fast-paced society dropping a vehicle off for the entire day is not an option. Getting a ride to and from the traditional car wash can be a headache. You can rest easy and never have to leave your driveway!

How far will you travel to detail a car?

Five Star Detailing is flexible as to how far we will travel to detail a car. We are stationed in Lindenhurst, NY and will be glad to travel up to 35 miles to detail a vehicle. If you know you live outside the NY metro area, drop us a line with your location. We appreciate every client and will be willing to "go the extra mile" when the situation arises.

How long does it take to detail a car?

It generally takes 3-5 hours to fully detail a vehicle. Obviously if you own a larger vehicle the detailing duration will be closer to 5 hours. This may sound like a long time, but it is necessary to give attention to every one of your vehicle’s details.

Doesn’t my car wash in town detail cars?

Your local car wash does provide the same service CustomAutoCare.com provides only more expensively. A full detail at a car wash is generally $150-$200. If your car is "extra dirty" you can expect to pay even more. Your car will be taken for an entire day to complete the detailing task. When you drop your car off at a car wash for the day, you are going to need a ride home from the car wash and a ride back to pick up your vehicle. How often should I have my car washed, waxed or detailed?

Depending on how you use and garage your car, you should have it washed weekly/bi-weekly, waxed or polished every 60 to 90 days, and a complete detail once or twice a year depending on your vehicle condition and preferences.

My car is leased. Do I still need to have it detailed?

Yes! It's very important to have leased cars detailed. When you turn in the vehicle to the leasing company or trade it for another, it is appraised on its appearance and overall condition. The better the condition and maintenance, the more you will get in trade or the less they will charge you for reconditioning. At the very minimum you should have the vehicle detailed by a professional just before the trade-in or return of the vehicle.

So when Five Star Detailing arrives, what do I need?

A hose with adequate pressure to wash a car is necessary as well as an electrical outlet. The hose should be long enough to reach the vehicle. We carry extension cords so the electrical outlet can be anywhere.

What if I don’t have a hose / electrical outlet?

When this happens, the location would change. Five Star Detailing is here to accommodate you and cater to your needs. If you would prefer to have your vehicle dropped off, we would be more than happy to detail your vehicle in our West Islip location. If you wish to have your vehicle picked up that can be arranged upon request.

Do you detail the engine bay?

No. In many newer cars there is electricity running through parts of the engine bay. The air filter / intake must be well sealed from water. More often than not there is some risk involved with properly detailing under the hood of the car.
